RootStream Detect 2008 imports data for your company's QuickBooks database. Numerous
analysis rules are then applied to the data.
RootStream Detect 2008 analyzes the data using proven statistical techniques. Alerts and reports
are generated based on the completed analysis. These alerts and reports give you
specific transactions that may be the result of errors or fraud.
What accounting packages does RootStream Detect 2008 support?
The present version of RootStream Detect 2008 supports all versions of QuickBooks accounting software. An appropriate version of QuickBooks must be installed on your computer to work with RootStream Detect 2008.
Which versions of QuickBooks are supported?
RootStream Detect 2008 supports QuickBooks 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and QuickBooks 2008. RootStream Detect 2008 does not support the online version of QuickBooks. QuickBooks accounting software must be installed on the same computer running RootStream Detect 2008. This installed version of QuickBooks must match the version of QuickBooks used to create the QuickBooks company file.
What is a Scan?
Scan is the term used in RootStream Detect 2008 to describe the sequential operations of data import from QuickBooks and execution of rules on the imported data. When you perform a Scan on your accounting data, first the data is imported from a QuickBooks file and then the data is analyzed. Alerts and reports are generated after completing
this scan. A scan is a mandatory step when you create a new company in RootStream Detect 2008.
What are reports?
Reports are graphical and statistical representation of analysis of your accounting data. Alert based analysis report are the result of execution of rules. On the other hand, Benford’s Analysis and Risk Profile are the reports based on independent analysis of your accounting data.
What are alerts?
Alerts are the result of analysis of your accounting data based on the rules. An alert indicates one or more transactions containing an error that could be possible fraud. Alerts are classified according to the rules.
What are rules?
Rules in RootStream Detect 2008 are the accounting knowledge driven set of facts used to identify errors and possible fraud in your accounting data. For the first time ever, such rules are available in plain English text. Currently, RootStream Detect 2008 includes Accounts
Payable rules. You can activate or deactivate the rules. Only active rules are executed at the time of a scan is performed.
Can I simultaneously analyze data of two companies?
No. You can only work on one RootStream Detect 2008 company at a time.
